vivo announces today its collaboration with the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) to organise the “vivo x MIFFest 5min Short Film Unit” competition to the theme of “Humanity”, with the aim of delivering the message of “everyone can be a Content Creator” with their vivo smartphone

The competition marks the 2nd part of vivo’s Visual Creator campaign, inviting Malaysians to express themselves & become visual creators by unearthing the creativity & raw creator talent within them

The film competition commences from 8 to 25 April & will feature a panel of judges consisting of the representatives of both vivo Malaysia & MIFFest. Local universities, Xiamen University Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) & New Era University College will be co-steering the competition

“With the recent launch of the vivo X60 Series, it is our pleasure to work with MIFFest on a platform that enables a diverse pool of young & upcoming talent to showcase their creativity. vivo has never stopped exploring the boundaries of photography & videography creation, providing a creative space for more young people & users through the use of technology. Nowadays, smartphones are pivotal in capturing the special moments in life & we look forward to seeing the content that the participants will produce to the theme “Humanity” & hope that the vivo X60 Series will be the ideal partner in helping them to unleash their inner creativity,” said Mike Xu, Chief Executive Officer of vivo Malaysia.

MIFFest is a celebration of film that exists to honour filmmakers of the past, to encourage filmmakers of the present & to inspire filmmakers of the future. Now in its fifth year, MIFFest seeks to unearth the creativity & raw creator talent within them.

Inviting all filmmakers who are interested to participate in this competition, Joanne Goh, founder of MIFFest said, “We are honoured to partner vivo Malaysia to launch the competition & discover more quality local & foreign film productions. Through MIFFest, we look to uncover thousands of great potentials & allow more young & talented people to display their body of work & express themselves. Meanwhile, we are proud to have three local directors making short films & serving as role models of this competition.
