ITC Is Strategic Partner Of Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation For Malaysia #QURANHOUR
Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) has once again partnered with Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) as a strategic partner to the Malaysia #QuranHour, underlining its mission to advance Islamic Tourism in Malaysia through meaningful partnerships and collaborations
The Malaysia #QuranHour, organised by Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF), is an annual event to bring the Muslim community closer to the Quran through readings and deep understanding of its verses. The 7th edition of Malaysia #QuranHour will happen on 21 Muharram 1443H equivalent to 30 August 2021. This year, the theme of Malaysia #QuranHour is “Formula Malaysia Berbudi & Penyayang”, (Formula for a Kind and Compassionate Malaysia) and highlights the verses from Al-Mulk and Al-Musabbihat chapters of the Holy Quran
Director-General of ITC, Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan, said: “ITC is pleased to be part of this year’s Malaysia #QuranHour. The event showcases a strong Islamic content that engages all levels of the society in a meaningful way. Every year, we are amazed at the innovations and creativity that the WUIF team puts into making this programme engaging and relevant to Muslim audiences. I have no doubt that it will continue to be a key Islamic event that will put Malaysia top-most in the minds of Muslims everywhere.”
“Being an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, ITC is tasked to develop Islamic Tourism, and we strongly support WUIF and its noble efforts. Its aspirations for a caring, inclusive, responsible, and empathetic society towards fellow citizens and the environment, are values that ITC are familiar with in championing Islamic Tourism in Malaysia. These are the tenets of Islam that form the basis of Islamic Tourism that we wish to uphold across the industry,” he emphasised.
Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip further added: “Moreover, the event is timely and coincides with the commemoration of Malaysia’s 64th year of independence, encouraging us to reflect upon the meaning of this significant celebration in Malaysia. Coincidentally, this year’s theme of National Day is Malaysia Prihatin (Malaysia Cares), and centres around being caring, mindful, and considerate of our family, friends, neighbours and fellow citizens. Guided by the Quran during this event, the Malaysia #QuranHour will encourage us to contemplate on these meanings further.”
The Malaysia #QuranHour invites Muslims to understand and act upon three motivations from Al-Mulk and seven success formulas from Al-Musabbihat to unravel the secrets in shaping the mindset and behaviour of Muslims to form “Malaysia Berbudi & Penyayang” (a Kind and Compassionate Malaysia).
ITC viewed that the programme plays a role in bringing Muslims closer to the Holy Quran especially during a time of great change and upheaval. “The COVID-19 pandemic has put upon mankind a challenge of such great proportion. Several actions have been taken to curb the spread, such as minimising physical travel, establishing SOPs, developing the COVID-19 vaccination programme, and so on. However as Muslims, we believe in the Holy Quran for guidance and as a source of communal strength to face these difficult times,” said Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip.
Supporting the event was also in line with ITC’s vision to develop Malaysia as an Islamic Tourism destination offering Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality services. Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip said: “Such events complement our efforts to make Malaysia known for our Islamic-related events and tourism products such as Mosque Tourism, the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, and the The Nasyrul Quran Complex which is the world’s second-largest Quran production centre.”
Muslims everywhere are encouraged to participate in this year’s Malaysia #QuranHour from their respective locations. The programme will be broadcast live on TV-Alhijrah / RTM / Astro Oasis / Bernama TV / IKIM / Sinar / Quran Hour and Nu Ideaktiv platforms with live readings by a Qari, followed by a Tadabbur session to reflect deeply upon the meanings of the verses chosen from Al-Mulk and Al-Musabbihat chapters of the Holy Quran
